Vikram croons for Arya

Vikram is at it again. The Cheeyan, who made a mark as a singer in films like ‘Gemini’ and ‘Kanthaswamy’, has crooned for the period film ‘Madharasapattinam’, which has Arya in the lead role.

The highlight of the song composed by G V Prakash is that Vikram has sung in five different voices like a teacher, a dhobi, an old man, a youngster and a vendor. Interestingly, it was Vijay, the director of the film, who suggested Vikram’s name to Prakash.

“The song ‘Meghame Oh Meghame….’ is going to rock the charts. Everyone in the recording studio was awestruck by the way Vikram sung the song by changing his voice in no time. He is amazing,” says Prakash.

He adds: “Vikram is a true professional. We learnt that he did a lot of homework before coming to studio for recording. And this made him to sing the song without any hiccups. I am looking forward to work with him again.”

Arya is all smiles these days. Just have a look at the movies he is currently acting in to know the reason. The actor is at present doing ‘Avan Ivan’, ‘Madarasapattinam’, ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ and ‘Chikku Bhukku’.

“I am happy about the offers I got post ‘Naan Kadavul’. ‘Madarasapattinam’ is directed by Vijay of ‘Kireedam’ and ‘Poi Solla Porom’ fame. He is a talented filmmaker and you would see a new Arya in this film,” he says.

Arya adds: “Directed by Rajesh of ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ fame ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ would portray me as a bubbly youngster. The script is so fresh and the film would be one of the best in my career.”

On ‘Chikku Bhukku’, he says, “It is a breezy romantic entertainer which has Shriya Saran opposite me. It is about the journey of a young girl who comes to India from the United Kingdom. She meets me at one point of time and the rest is suspense.”

Arya’s happiness doubles when he talks about ‘Avan Ivan’. “Getting an opportunity to act in a Bala sir’s film is no easy. He has committed me for the second time and this shows the confidence he have in me. Both Vishal and I have meaty roles.”

Director Bala has finally revealed the name of his forthcoming film. It has been titled Avan Ivan. The movie stars Vishal and Arya. Speaking about the film, Bala said that Arya and Vishal play brothers in the film. True to his word that he will work on a lighter subject this time, Bala disclosed that it would be a ‘jolly’ film. It means the director will not touch upon the dark subjects that he had been dealing with.

When the reporters asked about the dialogue writer, Bala said that noted writer S Ramakrishnan had penned the dialogues.

On the inevitable query about his National Award, the director said that he is very happy about it.
