Arya’s London date!

Director Vijay is all smiles these days, courtesy to his new ambitious period saga Madarasa Pattinam. “While many directors dream of a period film in their career, I feel lucky to be directing one very early in my career,” says Vijay who still couldn’t believe his fortune. Set in the pre-independence era, the movie revolves around an unusual love affair between a peasant and a white girl. Vijay is all praises for the producers Kalpathi Agoram, who he says understands the requirements of a mega budget movie of this tune.
Set in the backdrop of 1940s, Madarasa Pattinam will showcase the Chennai city in all its old-world glory with the Buckingham Canal brimming with fresh water, the Anna Salai, Spencer’s and the Central Station. Vijay says that art director Selva Kumar is working on making Chennai look as it was way back in its colonial days to the screens and is collecting artifacts that could help him in his work. Vijay has managed to rope in the London-based Amy Jackson, winner of the Teen World 2009 for Madarasa Pattinam. G V Prakash scores the music for this period drama.

Arya At Satyam's Blur Launch

There’s no sweat, no fear of death if you are racing at Blur – Sathyam Cinema’s Gaming Arcade that occupies level 4, 5 and 6 at the multiplex. But the adrenaline rush and racing pulse is just the same. And if you have brought your pals along, you’ll even hear the loud cheers mingling with the already noisy din created by the virtual NASCAR race. But this evening at Blur, the excitement went several notches higher, because the man seated in the place of Driver Ten was actor Arya! He was competing with a bunch of hardcore gaming guys, and believe it or not, he played like a pro himself!
The matted hair and the bushy beard that had hidden him from the world for over a year are long gone! A clean-shaved, neatly dressed, sauve and handsome Arya made the evening extra fun for several regular gamers at Blur. He put up a good fight and won two of the five rounds. Each time, he was competing against nine others selected from a heap of entries. Most of them being super good at the game, Arya had to summon all his focus amidst the lightning flashes of cameras and the squealing fans. But once he found his pace, he was unstoppable. Blur today was a blur of noises and smiling faces – there were no true losers, because in the end, everybody has a good time and even got the chance to get clicked with Arya, who has become hot property since his brilliant performance in Naan Kadavul.
After nearly forty minutes of fun behind the wheel, Arya humoured the press by answering a few questions and posing for pictures. He said that working on Naan Kadavul had brought him into contact with all kinds of people which had opened up his mind and soul, teaching him to be more thankful for what he has, and more compassionate towards those who have next to nothing. For an actor, he said, Naan Kadavul proved a great and intense learning experience that has further whetted his acting skills. He also added that he was totally impressed with the recently-released music of Sarvvam and was as eager as everyone else for the movie's release.
