Madhrasapattinam - Audio launched

A sense of nostalgia was evoked at the audio launch of Kalpathi S Aghoram’ AGS Entertainment’s, Vijay directed Madhrasapattinam, featuring Arya and Amy Jackson in the lead.

The music of the film is by GV Prakash. Said the young, talented music director: “It is a very special day for me, as I had done a lot of research on the music of the film.”

The launch took place at the Chennai Trade Centre, on Sunday (April 4) evening which looked like the old Madras of 1940’s. The guests had to walk through Mount Road of that era with Elphinstone theatre, trams, horse drawn carriages and small petty shops. Vijay and his team brought about a certain amount of authenticity that left everybody awed.

The VIP’s were brought on stage in a train with a steam engine. Three people who were born in the 1930’s and had seen the then Madras in the final days of the British Raj and helped Vijay prepare his script was brought on stage and thanked.

The entire unit of the film including its lead stars Arya, Amy Jackson, cameraman Nirav Shah, editor Antony, art director V Selvakumar, costume designer Roopali Noor, action choreographer Manohar Varma, makes up man Pattinam Rasheed, lyric writer Na Muthukumar and GV Prakash were introduced on stage.

Four of the five songs from the album which has lovely music by GV Prakash were performed on stage by Rukmani, Piaa, Amy Jackson and Arya. The only song to be shown on screen was Meghame, Meghame… picturised against the backdrop of a ‘dhobi ghat’ in old Madras. The making of the songs and its importance was explained by the cast and crew on the video

Kamal Hassan, the chief guest at the function unveiled the audio in the presence of director Shankar who was the guest of honor. The others present on the occasion included Bala, Sibiraj, Bharath, Sasikumar, Prabhu Deva, Parthipan, Vasanth, Srikanth, Lissy Priyadarshan etc
